Behind almost every Arab bakery, butcher, grocery and restaurant in the Netherlands is a family business, often started by people who built a new life here and brought the flavours of home with them. These shops do more than sell products. They keep traditions alive, create jobs and give newcomers a familiar place in a new country. MnBaladna was built to help them thrive, and every order you place can make a difference.

Why supporting local Arab businesses matters

• It keeps money in your community. When you buy from a local shop, more of what you spend stays with a family business in your own area.
• It creates jobs. Thriving local shops and restaurants hire people from the neighbourhood, including newcomers looking for their first job in the Netherlands.
• It keeps the taste of home within reach. Specialised products such as Syrian spices, fresh Arab bread and traditional sweets are only available as long as there are shops that stock them.
• It strengthens community bonds. Local shops are meeting points, where people speak your language, know your family and understand what you are looking for.

How you can support local businesses on MnBaladna

1. Order from local stores and restaurants

On MnBaladna, you order directly from local Arab and halal stores and restaurants, across 371 delivery zones in the Netherlands. Not sure where to start? Our guide to buying Arab and halal products online shows what you can find.

How it helps: every order goes to a real local business, not a faceless warehouse.

2. Choose pickup when it suits you

Many stores offer pickup as well as delivery. If the shop is close by, collecting your order yourself is a nice way to meet the people behind it.

How it helps: it builds a personal relationship between you and the shop.

3. Leave an honest rating and review

After your order, take a moment to rate the store and write a short review.

How it helps: good reviews help small shops stand out and win new customers, and helpful feedback shows them what to improve.

4. Use their offers and coupons

Look out for offers and coupons from local stores on MnBaladna. Using them is a win-win: you save money, and the shop gains a loyal customer.

How it helps: promotions only work for small businesses when customers actually use them.

5. Spread the word

Found a great bakery or butcher? Tell friends and family, share the store with them, or recommend MnBaladna to someone who has just arrived in the Netherlands.

How it helps: word of mouth is still the most powerful marketing a small business can get.
